We only collect your email address — nothing more.We track your in-app activity (like subscriptions or interactions with releases) strictly to improve your experience. This data remains confidential and is never shared with third parties.
Tracking Releases
The app and web interface has two main views: Subscriptions and All Releases. The Subscriptions view provides a personalized feed of releases matching your subscribed artists and keywords, with notifications for new additions. All displays the releases we’ve detected across all artists and genres, ideal for browsing or discovery. To reduce clutter, we group all known variants of the same release (like different vinyl colors or editions) under one entry, based on the announcement date.
You’ll receive real-time push notifications (on iOS) or email notifications (on web and app) for new releases that match your subscriptions, depending on your preferences. You can customize your notification preferences anytime from the Settings tab.
We monitor select trusted sources like social media, label accounts, and vinyl retailers to detect new releases as soon as they're announced. Some records are added manually by our team to ensure accuracy. While we strive for completeness, automated tracking isn’t perfect, so some releases might be missed or delayed.
Your Subscriptions
Search for any artist and tap Subscribe. You’ll start seeing all their upcoming and newly announced releases in your Subscriptions feed. Each release is linked to its main artist, so you’ll only be notified for relevant records.
Looking for something specific? Keyword subscriptions let you follow records matching a term, such as Abbey Road or variants like Test Pressing, Splatter, or Picture Disc.We check both the release title and variant fields. You can also limit keywords to a specific artist for more precise results.
You can import your favorite artists and keywords directly from Apple Music or Discogs.Apple Music: You'll be asked to grant access to your media library so we can retrieve the artists you've saved and match them to our database. You’ll be able to review the matches and choose which ones to subscribe to.Discogs: You'll be asked to authorize access to your account so we can import keywords and artists from your Wantlist. As with Apple Music, you'll preview and confirm the imports before they’re added.Your data remains private and secure — we never link your Apple Music or Discogs account to VinylReleases, and only request the permissions needed to complete the import. You can revoke access at any time after the import is complete.
